ArabDev is a social platform where Arabic-speaking developers publish technical writing, discuss it, and find each other. It is built Arabic-first, works fully in English too, and its source code is public.
A lot of what Arabic-speaking developers write is scattered across platforms that were never designed for the language: layouts that are only mirrored, fonts that fight the script, and editors that break as soon as a right-to-left sentence meets a line of code.
ArabDev starts from Arabic instead of adding it later. Every paragraph picks its own direction, so an Arabic explanation and an English snippet sit in the same post without breaking. The interface is complete in both Arabic and English, and you can switch at any time.
Write posts with headings, lists, quotes, tables, links, images and code blocks, save drafts, and tag your posts so the right readers find them.
Follow developers and pick from 25 interests, read a feed in pages of twenty posts rather than an endless scroll, and like, save, repost and comment. Explore shows what is trending and which tags are popular, and search covers posts, people and tags.
Posts, profiles and tags can be read without an account. You need one only to write, comment and follow.
ArabDev is built and run by a small independent team. It opened in September 2026 and is developed in the open: the whole codebase is published under the GNU General Public License v3, so anyone can read it, run their own copy, or send improvements.
Every release is described in the patch notes, and the wiki documents how each feature works.
ArabDev is free to use. Its running costs are covered by a small number of clearly labelled ads in fixed places in the feed and the sidebar. Ads are requested without personalisation: they are not chosen from what you read or write.
We do not sell your information. The privacy policy explains in plain language what is collected, why, and for how long.
The community guidelines ask for what makes technical discussion worth reading: share what you learned, credit other people's work, and criticise the code, not the person. Harassment, hate, spam and stolen content are not welcome.
Every post has a report button. Moderators review each report and can remove a post, pause an account's publishing for a time, or suspend it. The author is always told what was decided, and never who reported them.
